Iris
The princess
I am the priness of the property. I lurk around where there is food and pets available. I love children and my 4 stables whom I call my home during the day. And lay in the straw in each and every stable. I will bring my caretakers the odd bird just as a token of appreciation

Studies show that chickens are very empathetic. They can detect different emotions, such as grief, and respond accordingly. Chickens are therefore great companions whose presence can help those prone to anxiety feel calmer and more at peace.

It’s no secret that pets can contribute to your happiness. Studies show that dogs reduce stress, anxiety and depression; ease loneliness; encourage exercise and improve your overall health. For example, people with dogs tend to have lower blood pressure and are less likely to develop heart disease.

Bobby
Master of the tackshed
Hello all, I’m Bob,
I was born in 2009, my mother, the original Waimak cat Lucy, I was born to a litter of kittens whom all found their forever homes except my sister blossom, the only fluffy kitten out of all of us, sadly blossom was struck by a car, but she did however leave a kitten, iris, my niece, she is still on the farm today. I hung around the farm for most of my youth, but than got a taste for the wild, for many years I lived in the bush, I survived well on a diet of rabbit and was fixed as a youngin, so no issues there.. occasionally coming home when the mighty Waimak was in flood, but many years past and I did not return making everyone believe I was gone for good but in March 2019 I returned home. Now days I spend my days lounging around in the tack room reminding everyone who is boss, swiping at the staff when they don’t give me enough attention… Or too much and demanding food, life is pretty good 😊
